Selective Sales Leadership Support


In some situations, I’m asked to step into a short-term or fractional sales leadership role once strategic clarity has been established.


This work is not offered as a standard service.


It is undertaken selectively, where a business has traction but requires senior sales judgement, structure, and leadership discipline without making a permanent hire.

The focus is on aligning sales activity with commercial priorities ensuring effort, process, and leadership attention are directed where they will have the greatest impact.


What this type of engagement typically involves


  • Reviewing the current sales model, services or products, and routes to market
     
  • Assessing how leads are handled, prioritised, and converted
     
  • Clarifying targets, measures, and expectations in line with commercial reality
     
  • Bringing structure and direction to sales activity and decision-making
     
  • Supporting leadership teams to step back from day-to-day sales management
     

The emphasis is on clarity, alignment, and decision discipline, not operational firefighting.


 

When this is appropriate


This level of support is most relevant where:


  • Sales activity is busy but not converting as expected
     
  • Growth ambitions are unclear or misaligned with current capability
     
  • Leadership capacity is stretched across too many priorities
     
  • The business needs experienced sales leadership without a full-time appointment
     

In most cases, this work follows an initial period of Strategic Mentoring Partnership, where priorities and expectations have already been clarified.



Important to note


This is not:

  • Coaching or training
     
  • Ongoing operational sales management
     
  • A substitute for an internal sales team
     
  • A fixed package with predefined deliverables
     

Each engagement is shaped by context and agreed scope.
